Money does not buy happiness, peace or security.  It’s here today and lost tomorrow.  There is only one source of true wealth, peace, and security — Christ Jesus.

Paul starts his letter with a summary of the gospel and how Jews and Gentiles have been invited to become a part of God’s family as adopted children of God through Jesus Christ.  God’s purpose was and is to unify all things through Jesus. The Big Idea is that, as part of God’s family, every Christian is rich in Christ. The Gospel is meant to transform our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. 

In the second half of the letter Paul helps us to understand how we should respond to and live as members of God’s family. He invites us to put on the Armour of God.
