Help Us Make Blessing Baskets

As a man graduates from the New Life Program at the Whosoever Gospel Mission, moves out of the Mission, and sets up his own apartment, we have the joy of giving him a blessing basket to help him as he gets established.

Bring your donated items on March 16 or sooner. We’ll assemble baskets after worship that Sunday using the donations received. Our goal is to assemble 30 baskets, that each include the 20 items listed below, to help men transitioning into their own home. You can choose to pick up a few items or build an entire box.

Here’s a list of items we like to provide to get him started:

  • Dustpan and brush

  • Dish detergent

  • Dish drying mat

  • Dish cloths/scrubby sponges

  • Dish towels

  • Hand soap

  • Household cleaner (like method, simple green, etc.)

  • Glass cleaner

  • Cleaning rags

  • Toilet bowl cleaner

  • Toilet brush

  • Bath mat/small bathroom rug

  • Mesh or cloth laundry basket/bag

  • Small laundry detergent

  • A few rolls of toilet paper

  • Roll of paper towels

  • Small set of basic household tools (could be one multi-tool, or a little pack with the basics)

  • A small housewarming gift – could be a decoration with an encouraging verse of Scripture on it, a small wall hanging or something to be set on an end table, a small vase of silk flowers, etc.

Feel free to add anything else that would be useful!

The Container : A Large Storage Bin with a Lid. Use a large plastic storage container to pack these items in. The container would itself be useful for storage.

As you gather items for each blessing basket, pray for the man who will receive it:

  • That this man would seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness

  • That the Lord would give him continued victory over any battles with addiction

  • That God would bless and strengthen his relationships with family, friends and church family

  • That the Lord would bless him in his employment

  • That this new home would be a place of peace and safety where Christ is glorifi ed.
